LHOF volunteered at The Russel Home For Atypical Children and adults. The Russel Home is an operation started by Vantrease Russel on November 13th, 1951, and was the first non-profit residential institution for special needs people in the US(more information at https://russellhome.org/about-us/). The volunteers catered to the residents' various needs by preparing lunch and playing music to entertain them while they ate. The residents immensely enjoyed the volunteers’ company and were ecstatic when we offered to visit again.
